I remember having a dream once, years ago, that I was trespassing on Native American territory with some of my family and friends. Sitting Bull was there, as was a real hot-headed young buck of a tribesman who looked like he wanted us all killed. A lot of other Native Americans were there, some aiding in taking us captive, and some just sort of standing around. For some reason we couldn't communicate; none of them knew English, or at least nobody tried to really talk. Sitting Bull sort of talked down the young, aggressive guy, and I was trying to do the same - I put up my hands, palms facing outwards, and was going "no, no" and "it's okay", just trying to cooperate as much as possible as they began taking us all prisoner. Sitting Bull was calm and stoic, and he just led us further into their encampment by some trees. He was right in front of me as I cooperated fully and stood with my back facing a tree, attempting to communicate my respect for him and apologizing in soft, gentle tones and a non-aggressive stance. I felt certain he understood my soul and that he was taking charge of the situation in a peaceful way as a great leader of men. There was a pause, and then Sitting Bull raised his rifle and shot me through the heart. I definitely woke up with an adrenaline rush, though I don't remember any physical pain from it. It was scary as hell, though. I felt so betrayed and disillusioned. Not to mention, facing death sucks.

I don't even remember the context quite clearly. The dude with the shotgun was some redneck that was angry about his daughter because of something some other guy that was next to me happened to do. Next thing I know, he's pointing the gun at us and I'm trying to cooperate with my hands up and he says like "don't try anything funny" and then shoots me right away without any warning

I've died in dreams before a few times. the first time it was pretty shocking because I'd always heard you never actually die in a dream, you usually wake up before it happens. it was a weird experience too. but after like the third time it became unremarkable.
