Credit Karma is the only one that gives you a score and doesn't require your credit card number beforehand. The downside is that it's not an "official" score from one of the three big credit agencies, but their own estimated score. It's still better than nothing.

Unless you have a reason for multiple reports per year, go with the government one, which is ACTUALLY free.

Those televised sites always require your credit card beforehand. It's "free" for like three days and unless you cancel in time (a process that is often intentionally confusing and may require a phone call), you get hooked for the first monthly charge. Heck, these days, it's not even "kinda sorta free" anymore. A few of the sites have you pay a buck or two upfront.
