The second round is here! Sixty-four of the most prominent Song of Ice and Fire characters are left! Who is the best character GRRM has ever created?! The most votes per round wins and moves on in this bracket style competition. The contest will continue until the most popular character in Westeros is crowned!!!
This contest can be found on 2 different boards, but only one vote per user will be accepted. The two boards are: Books and Literature and Gamefaqs Contests. Any suspicious votes will be discounted. Each character will be supplied with a link to Wiki Song of Ice and Fire that briefly describes them and their accomplishments throughout the series. Theres a lot of characters in this series, my hope is that these links will remind users who did what and when.
If there are any further questions please feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer!!
~ Khal Drogo only got 4 votes. I don't know how to react to that. Has me thinking Barristan might give Jaime a run all of the sudden. ~ Do people hate Samwell or just like Qyburn? Qyburn is a torturing son of a b, but doesn't have much character build. I happen to think Samwell is leagues above him. Though I will admit listening to Sam cry and snivel his way to Old Town was quite a testing and sometimes annoying read. ~ I still think Joffrey will surprisingly have his hands full with Samwell next round.
(11)Jaqen H'ghar (3)Stannis Baratheon (7)Robb Stark (2)Arya Stark
To your comments: Drogo is just less interesting than Barristan. And I voted Qyburn because he was "not Sam." I don't really find anything remarkably enjoyable about Sam. I'm fairly confident Joff is gonna stomp him.

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.
(11)Jaqen H'ghar - I think Jaqen's inevitable mauling of Benjen here might be misinterpreted, it's just that Benjen is massively overseeded given he has what, 2 or 3 scenes then goes missing for four and a half books (and counting)? Jaqen's at least kept a vague presence up. (3)Stannis Baratheon - Stannis is such a fascinating character, I hope he gets far. Thoros is perfectly fine and all, but he's not really impacted the plot much. (7)Robb Stark - Robb's awesome, he's basically Ned but younger. Loras is pretty cool (and I love the dynamic between him and Jaime) but Robb's different league really. (2)Arya Stark - Arya will do very well in this tournament, and Tyene's only this far due to an absurdly easy route.
And yeah, who really cares about Drogo? He's perfectly fine for what he is, but what he is is "tribal figure who gets killed inside the first book without really doing much". He's important for Dany's character growth, and ****ing badass in the tv series, but the book version isn't anything special. It does help though that Barristan is pretty much a perfect example of being an honourable old knight. It's little touches, like Dany complaining tongue-in-cheek about her chair in Meereen being uncomfortable, more out of small talk than anything else, and Barristan getting a cushion put there for her. How could anyone dislike a man like that?

(11)Jaqen H'ghar - Benjen is bland and average, and while I don't think Jaqen is the best character ever, he's still good enough to beat him in my books. (3)Stannis Baratheon - Stannis is awesome, and strangely endearing (I can't help but say "awwww" everytime he does something a bit stupid. Maybe that's just me). (7)Robb Stark - Fairly straightforward, although Loras isn't so bad himself. (2)Arya Stark - I didn't even remember who Tyenne was exactly, so 'lol'.
