#3. Song: Punching in a Dream Artist: The Naked and Famous Link: Nominated by JustinCrossing - Ooh ooh ooh ooh WEH OOH. The first time I listened to it, the singer's obnoxious voice turned me off. It's jumped up quite a few spots since initial rankings especially since I enjoy the rest of the song. The main female singer still grates, but like cheese men in dreams, they can easily be ignored for the better parts. It's probably also the song that gets stuck in my head the most when I'm away from the list. This is also the highest song has gotten from the bottom half of initial listens. The two above were always top fifteen, but this rose above all the rest. Kudos.
#3. Justin Crossing ~ (3) (4) (35) (46) (85) ~ 34.6 Best Song: Punching in a Dream Worst Song: Ruins of Silence - Lots of eclectic, awesome, and highly memorable, songs. I'm certain, a year from now, I'll still have great awareness of Run Right Back, Punching in a Dream, and Little Talks. Ruins of Silence is a completely forgotten memory. I really, really enjoyed these songs. I absolutely hated ranking them, lol, because they were amazing to listen to. Sometimes, like Run Right Back, they just couldn't keep climbing. Others, like Punching in a Dream, beat Butter-Fly which I thought for sure I would be posting just before #1. I have no idea what melonade to give you. Wait...

Though I know the order by which these two will appear, I want to know which one you think is better. This ends soon! Thank you all for following along and not complaining that I dragged this out too much. I'm having a lot of fun with these songs, and I'm just not quite ready to end the topic just yet. They'll definitely be up within the next 24 hours, hopefully within the next 12, barring any unexpected trips or outings that last all night and into day.

Surprised that I had actually heard that song by Bond before. At first I thought it sounded familiar because it sounded so close to the X-Men theme, but as soon as it picked up I realized that I had listened to it many times in the past. Which is really odd because neither the group nor the song title were familiar. It's decent enough, and I like it much more than Sleepyhead.
Also, I may not have won... but as far as I'm concerned I still got the best melonade, which we all know is what really matters. Good luck to you both.
Both of the final two songs are really good. I could have sworn I heard the second one in a video game trailer once, but I can't remember what game it was for...

I thoroughly enjoy this, especially the slightly ethereal high-pitched background singer. - Wow, I had forgotten all about this song. As soon I heard the first few notes, my eyes lit up. - Wow, everything is going to the beat. SLEEPYHEAAAAAAAAD - ****, I really want this at number one. Why does another song have to hit me on a physical level? - I think this is the only song on the list I've completely rocked out to. I've danced a bit, bobbed my head, sung slong, but nothing quite intesne as when this gets to "SLEEEEEPYHEAAAAAAAAAAD."

#1. Song: Explosive Artist: Bond Link: Nominated by blindhobo13 - The X-Men theme. The X-Men Theme Song is all I could think about how this song wasn't for the first thirty seconds, but then it trounced it. Absolutely beautiful violin. Always catches me by surprise. At first I'm like, "How can this be one of my favorites? It can't be so high up here just because it sounds a lot like X-Men at first. It's definitely top 20 material, but- oh wow, oh WOW, those violins are incredible. Okay, so it's top five, no doubt. But does it... oooh, this is nice and slow and HELL YES HERE WE GO AGAIN! I LOVE THIS SONG!" It keeps me off-guard with tons of great, bombastic deliveries.
I've been sooooo sorely tempted to put Sleepyhead first because it's so damn good. And every time I listen to this song, it starts out with, "Okay, yeah, Sleepyhead beats this." But there's at least ten different points where that confidence is not only shaken, it's completely shattered. This song just hits me on a visceral, under the skin level so many times I cannot even fathom having a song above it. Like Road to the Faire, the beautiful strings just grab me and hold tight like nothing else does. I almost come to tears when this song is at its best from sheer beauty. 'Sleepyhead' makes me party, 'Explosive' makes me love.
Number one since the beginning, the only song I put into my A+ category of songs on initial listen, and the only song I have not moved once.
