Do I have to keep paying rent until the original lease is up? Or is it up to them to make up the difference?

Might be some legal trouble with them if doubtful, but generally no, they're out of luck.

However, if your name is on the agreement and they fail to make rent, you're still just as liable whether you live there or not.

pretty sure all three of you are responsible for the rent until the contract is up. you can usually find someone to sublet your spot though.

Your ass IS on the line. You're liable as long as there is a lease. Mind you might be able to get removed from the lease, but there will be an early termination fee.

unless your roommates are cool with paying your part of the rent (which wouldn't be a cool thing for you to push on them, really), you'd still be responsible.
