I think it's because it's still relatively early in this one. As it progresses things tend to get chattier

Then again, SMFFFC is chatty pretty much right from the beginning.

More people, more conflict.

Plus most people here tend to play nice, especially early on. There might be more chat here eventually, but the characters going out now are generally not anyone's absolute favorites (outside of a few obviously).
