The Court of Appeal for Ontario has swept aside some of the country's anti-prostitution laws saying they place unconstitutional restrictions on prostitutes' ability to protect themselves.
The landmark decision means sex workers will be able to hire drivers, bodyguards and support staff and work indoors in organized brothels or "bawdy houses," while "exploitation" by pimps remains illegal.
However, openly soliciting customers on the street remains prohibited with the judges deeming "a reasonable limit on the right to freedom of expression."
Not too surprised about the ruling, it'll probably go to the Supreme Court next which could legalize it for the rest of Canada.

It's much harder to get away with pulling a GTA and stealing a hookers money after having sex with and killing her in an environment with bodyguards and regulations, than say your bedroom or in an ally.

most proud i've been of the province this year, i think. =) the government's challenge was very weak, based on summaries i've read - i can't see the Supreme Court ruling any differently on this.
Contrary to common belief, prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas and the entire county. However, escort services are abundant and are basically prostitution services in all but name.
