Yeah as someone who loved Tintin as a kid, I really enjoyed the movie. I can understand why it didn't do well, though, it just didn't seem at all well-advertised. Like I said, I used to be a Tintin nut, and I didn't even know the movie existed until it was in theaters.

They never expected it to do well in the US, which I think was a mistake. Statistically, comic movies overseas than their home country, so we didn't expect Tintin to do well here(but it wouldn't have hurt to try - the movie already almost tripled its budget in earnings).

Nobody I know watched it in theaters, but it's been selling like gangbusters where I work. I mean we rarely actually sell out of movies, but I haven't seen it on Blu-Ray or DVD for most of the week, and tons of people are asking about it. I mean we didn't get nearly as many copies of it as say... The Muppets when it came out on video, but it's outsold every new release this year by my count.
edit: used a better example. But now that I think of it, The Muppets has sold a ton of copies as well.
