So, last semester my friend drew a deck of playing cards (in MS paint) based on our circle of friends, and I designed a drinking TCG style game that could be played with them. Made up a combat system, special effects, etc. I'll spare you the unnecessary and awesome details, but we ended up printing them on a regular old printer and laminating them. Which is alright.

But for his birthday, I want to get them reprinted in a more professional way. And also in a TCG format instead of standard playing cards.

I plan to use this website, because it sounds perfect:

But unfortunately, I've realized that I don't have the artistic skills to make a decent card template. And all my art-y friends are busy with end of semester homework. I almost placed an ad on deviantart, but then that forum scared me off. So naturally I thought "Board 8"

$$$ TLDR Here's what I'm looking for: $$

A card design that conforms to this template: https://community.thegamecrafter.com/publish/templates/cards/poker-cards

1) Basically the main thing I need is a background design. Preferably in several different colours.

"Use textures or gradients for the backgrounds of your cards instead of solid colors.

Avoid using black or dark solid colors on the outer edges of your cards. During the cutting process, toner can chip slightly and the edge of the white card stock paper can become visible.

Use backgrounds that bleed off the edge of the card instead of borders to make minor registration errors less noticable."

2) A portrait window with a border, for the artwork I'll add. Roughly 650 pixels by 650 pixels looks about right from what I can tell from fooling around?

3) A small space beneath the portrait window for a name

4) A bordered word box for ability effect text for the remainder of the space..

=======

I'm not sure if I explained that the best, so feel free to ask any questions. If this looks like something you'd be interested post and we'll talk shop. I'm not made of money, but the friend in question did treat me to a front row Ottawa-Nashville hockey game so now is not the time to be stingy! Also making this into a full fledged game is really fun. Anyway.
