They're kind of shown to be two people who don't really give a **** from the first scene they were featured in... It's kind of weird to have two "silent badass" type characters in a show where the majority of characters are quite realistic, but it's not like it came out of nowhere. Given how they acted previously, that's exactly what I would expect them to do.

I always thought they were there to send a message to Heisenberg to stop. They couldn't get him on their first try, so they went for his family, which up until that point was relatively uninvolved with his whole thing.

I thought it was pretty clear they were emotionally involved in this killing and were tired of waiting so they did something stupid

is it 'stupid' of a show to portray characters acting stupidly? because that is kind of necessary to create this whole 'drama' thing....besides, do people act always in their best interest in reality?
