Terra Nova officially canned, and since Fringe was on the chopping block with it and House, it has much more chances to survive :3

I wouldn't say they got that much better. Sure, that's one less hour Fringe would have to compete with, but I think the only thing that means anything for Fringe's renewal is how cheap Warner Bros wants to give it to FOX for. A free hour on the schedule isn't going to make much of a difference, if any.

It's more an issue of if they cancel Fringe now, they'll have no tentpoles - their biggest earner is gone, their newer shows are really underperforming, and Fringe already has a dedicated, if smaller, base.

Well it is true that at this point the only hour-long shows locked in to be renewed are Glee and Bones, but there's still Touch in the wings, which had good preview ratings. Those three could be enough "veteran" shows for FOX next year. Plus New Girl and (hopefully) Raising Hope would take up another hour.

the problem is Fringe's ratings are like... really bad. Alcatraz gets like twice the numbers and they'll probably end up cancelling that, so Fringe is in bad shape.

I'm really hoping they get to come back for an official final season like Chuck did. I think Fringe is super cool.
