But yeah you should still be able to get his loyalty, as long as you can use the Paragon conversation option at the end, it'll be on the top-left and highlighted in blue.

Renegade isn't evil, you're still a hero, you're just a dick about it. Paragon is "nice guy" Shep. Which I don't like as much because I like being a jerk. It's just about preference. Either way you're still the hero.

Came in here to suggest ME2, but I see Halo's got it taken care of.

What class are you playing?

And yeah, you can mix up your good/bad responses, but that does make it harder to pass some of the higher level speech checks later on. Generally it's better to focus on either Paragon or Renegade.

I don't know you chose to do so! That's fine though, Firewalker can be done at any time. So can Overlord. Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival are supposed to be done after the end of the game.

someone told me i should work on side missions before recruiting too many guys because the game advances itself and then stuff shuts off, is that true?

You got to put me on. Come on! Come on!

Well no. The game will advance once you get the fourth recruitment, and then another time soon after that. Then you'll have all the time you want to complete all of your quests before going on the next main mission.
