Honorable Mentions:

Megaman 2
One of the old time classics. Nuff said. An entry in my top 10 just barely edges it out.

Kirby
Kirby was, other than mario, probably the only first party nintendo game that I had on my NES. I played that game to death. I ended up getting three perfect files on my cart. and then Kirby's Superstar showed up and me and my lil bro played that game to death. <3 Kirby

VC/FE
Vakryia Chronicles and Fire Emblem GCN. as I said in the other topic, These games were great and I loved the characters, and how many there were to choose from and how you were able to mix and match your army the way you like it. but the games presented too many flaws for me. Two that stand out, one from each game, was the random stat generator from FE. Mega Mana went all OCD over this generator and never even finished the game! He would play each level 5 times and continue with the save that had the best level ups. and yea, I don't blame him cause empty level ups do indeed suck. I didn't get TOO many of them, but it still stung when I did. and for VC, yea, the ranking system. I wouldn't have minded it if you got EXP from killing units or something, and THEN you get bonus EXP from your rank, but having the rank thing as the PRIMARY way to get it? oh man wut? at least the skirmishes were there.

Pokemon
more specifically, Red and Blue (never played yellow). Pokemon really did open up a whole new magical world with a new mythology that made it easy to immerse yourself in it. and it felt like anything was possible too. Which is why the rumors and hoaxes for those games were so believable. IT COULD HAPPEN! Playing Pokemon and all of the talk from school is easily one of my best gaming memories.

Dead Rising Series
Man, mixing a sandbox game with zombies was genius. everytime I played these games, I discovered something new and that excitement kept me coming back. I do like the story and the characters, but they take a backseat to the gameplay, which is zombie killing in variety of ways. But unfortunately theres too many problems with the series. The first one was hard as hell, but not because it was supposed to be hard, it was just too faulty. The AI sucked balls, the zombie grabs had too much priority, your beginning stats suck. hell, even if you're maxed out with all of the secret equipment the game is still too hard, I haven't made a perfect run of the game yet! and DR2 is the opposite, its too easy! Some day they'll release a perfect mix

Top 10
in no order
Megaman X
Like I said with Megaman 2, its the classic, nuff said. I could never get enough of these games back in the day. They were just so much fun. I thought MMX4 was cool, but I didn't like 5. Multiple Armor sets, with Armor pieces you can't use until they're completed, too many secrets, the f***ing time limit. Bleh. I never played any beyond that, but the first three, especially the first one, will be one of my fav platformers\run and guns

OoT
Man, one time I wanted to check something out in the game, I think I may have been looking for a quote, so I booted the game up. I ended up playing through all of it again. I just love this game. The big, explorable world, all of it's secrets, but not going overboard! The story, the gameplay. This game is just fun. plain and simple. Its weird, LttP was a good game, but I get tired of it. Last time I booted up the game, everything felt routine and I was going through the motions. but I don't feel that way about OoT, yet I easily should if I'm feelin that way with LttP. Theres just something about OoT Man.

FFT
Fun fact: I bought this game for my older bro cause he wanted a strategic game. while he still loves the game to this day, I ended up loving it more, even though it was his present. I really can't describe what makes this game awesome, you guys already know.

FFVII
another fun fact: I bought this game at a Kmart for 20 bucks before I ever owned a PS1 or PS2 (I think I got my PS2 two years alter)
This was THE RPG back in the day. The modern setting, the game, the anti technology, hell, even anti HUMAN plot. Aliens. Spiritual super natural events, Cid Highwind. Loli ninjas, this game had it all. It might be a bit outdated and maybe even cliche nowdays, but the impact it left says it all.

SMRPG
Everytime I went to a rental store to get a game, this game was the first one I would look for. Its just pure fun. Plain and simple. This game was one of the first game that made me appreciate game music, funny enough. The gameplay wasn't overly complicated, the story and characters were fun....and yea, its all fun, like I said. Theres just so much charm to this game. I love it to death. I remember checking out FFI back on the NES, but getting lost and not knowing what to do. years later I picked this game up, and then FFMQ, and then that got me into RPGs. I seeked out the rest of the FFs, as well as other series, and that eventually led me to fanboy over FFVII, which I viewed as the holy grail at the time. but as for SMRPG, it still holds up very well on its own.

MGS3
I love the entire MGS series. The first one was great, but not entirely epic. The second WAS Epic, but it had f***ing Raiden in it (YEA YEA HES SUPPOSED TO BE ME, WHATEVER) and the bats*** crazy ending. MGS4 WAS SUPER EPIC, but Kojima just didn't have his heart in it at that point and it suffers cause of it. MGS3 was just Epic and Fantasic with no bulls***. Well, it had the Camo and Injury and Food index, but I didn't mind those at all. Also this game was also the most fun, with the craziest codec scenes about mushrooms refilling batteries and how its Snake's destiny to be in the box. at the same time, like I said, it has the most epic story too, and the most depressing with its complex characters and story. Truly something worth saluting to

SFII
As I've said before, I was an Arcade Child. Nothing presented more joy than to go to the arcades with my family. And this game was to thank for it. 8 Selectable characters, each with their own stage and MUSIC, gigantic sprites, competitive actions, it was phenomenal
ANOTHER PUNNY FUN FACT: I never owned this game until I was in high school. when I bought SF:AC. Yea, we managed to get a SNES, but never this game. Nevertheless, this is one of my most beloved games. I will continue buying each new remake because capcom has me by my nostalgic balls.

Final Fight
I credit Final Fight the same way SFII helped Arcades. Sure, Double Dragon is the grand daddy of Beat Em Ups, and I love that series, too, but if it weren't for Final Fight, the 90s beat em up wouldn't have ended up in that direction, and those games were the meat of arcades, along with fighting games. Plus the series has one of the most manliest men ever to be made from Pixels. MIKE "THE MAYOR OF EARTH" "MACHO" "F***ING" HAGGAR. His daughter gets kidnapped, what does he do? Not go to the police, not get the FBI, not go to the military and get a tank. He f***ing walks out to the streets and beats everybody he sees up until he ends up in the same building where his daughter is at. And he only recruits two guys that hang out in his gym. and of course the game still holds up. Gigantic sprites, cool music, and fun gameplay.

Super Mario Bros 3
I like this game over SMW because I think SMW over does it with all of its secrets and branching pathways. Sure, you get more bang for your buck, but SMB3 is just pick up and play. You don't have to worry about that s****, you just kill Goombas while wearing creepy costumes! and yes, the game has its secrets too! but like I said, it doesn't go overboard.

Phoenix Wright
Man, these games. I don't have to tell you guys why these games are great, YOU GUYS ARE THE ONES THAT TOLD ME
but still, these games concentrated on it's characters and it's story over gameplay and IT SHOWS. and everything about 3-4 was seriously one of the most epic things I've ever witnessed in a video game. Thanks guys
