So I'm getting my refund soon, and the only big thing I'm looking at doing is upgrading my PC. This ones is aging, but not terrible, but falling behind now.

Some of the big things I'm looking to do - Windows 7 obv, so that's about $100 for the OEM IIRC. Beyond that, I'm looking to be able to play Skyrim and Battlefield 3, so nothing super complicated. I'm looking for a budget of around $600 for the PC itself, and then the extra for Windows 7.

I'd also like to be able to use dual monitors, but I don't know how much extra I'd have to spend for that, so anyone knowledgable to either support or shoot down that idea would be awesome.

do you have any salvageable parts right now(Hard drives, DVD drives, etc)? Buying a hard drive right now is really something you want to avoid. 6 months from now they'll be back from reasonable levels.

I'm salvaging the monitor and Hard Drive, the rest of the computer(along with an older tiny hard drive) is being given to a friend.

I'm starting here with my build from a couple weeks ago.

Need to shave about $100 off of it right now(The i5 2500k is $30 more than that listed price. That thing is never in stock at that site).

Posting it so you can work with it too if you wish.

Also of note if you actually somehow end up not going just a bit cheaper on PSU, the 750v2 is actually the same price as the 650 after rebate/promo code on newegg assuming you dont live in california(in which case newegg becomes kind of crummy).

Also if you live in california, need to know if your budget is before/after tax is calculated, having to pay tax at newegg can really change things.

I'm actually in Oregon, so no sales tax on anything :D

I also may just go a bit higher, aim for below $600 before the OS.

That PSU is -really- cutting it close.

also if you dont plan on overclocking(it sounds like you dont, just go with the i5-2400.

Also not a huge fan of your case(Power Supply at the top is so outdated)

Yeah, reading through the reviews now....it has a good average review, and yet a lot of red flags. In the first dozen or so, I saw multiple where it died, and at least half claimed it was really loud during gaming x.x
