**** BLADEMASTERS AND **** IMPS! ESPECIALLY THE IMPS! God, I'm having flashbacks to Ruvas Forest on Hard mode level 1. When everything kills me in 2 hits, and the only thing I have going for me is firepower, tricksy little dodgy things are nightmarish. Well, it is fun to OHKO cave trolls, and practically breeze past Final Knights. But still, this is a bit absurd. But I'll make it! And maybe there's an accessory to trade for somewhere in here, I can't quite remember. Well, onwards, to Volactus, and Dracula! Arma Custos -> Volactus Well, as much as I love Volactus, I was getting half my attack power from Arma Custos (yeah, even given the death ring). Whenever I got hit for the first time, my power would double in exchange. Well, it doesn't matter. Volactus is amazing as well, but without the extra boost from Arma Custos, I really want to get rid of the Death Ring now. Death Ring -> Sun Ring Yessssss! I'm free! I'm extremely close to death, and my power just dropped massively, but I'm free from the instadeath! Well, having both the sun and moon rings on at the same time is a bit lolworthy, but I'm okay with that. Now I just need to deal with the final boss, then I'm finished. I only do 21 damage to the Final Knights now, whyyyyyy! I'm gonna die before I get out of here, FFFFF- *dead* Alright, alright... I know there's a warp point a little closer to Dracula himself. If I get that I can just magic ticket my way out from the Volactus room. Augh... Long story short, I do just that. I was going to say that 90% of my deaths on this run have been due to the death ring, but... Honestly that almost feels like an underestimate. I didn't die very often on this run, but the death ring just killed me over and over and over... Well, that's over now. Moon Ring -> World Ring Keeping the Sun ring because I'd like to finish this run pretty shortly. The World Ring just decreases MP consumption, which isn't that useful. So whatever, I'm fine. Stupid red treasures I can't get without Paries. Mocking me. Well, no matter, I'm now at the save point before Dracula. I don't think Sinestro Custos will do much here, and my unison is dark based making it useless. My hearts will just be extra hp thanks to the Heart Cuirass. Time for a hearty lunch, then Dracula's doom!

I do 76 damage per hit with Melio Falcis. I cannot use Volactus without getting nuked in return. So I need to hit the bastard 132 times. Yesh, this isn't exactly ideal. I have little to nothing in the way of healing items either. Oh right... I forgot he switches attack patterns half way through. Well, damn. Stupid bat wave attack. Alright... I know all his tricks. I know how they all work, I know the cues he gives before each one. I can do this...
CONGRATULATION! A WINNER IS YOU! VICTOLY!
Hahaha, yesyesyes! Final statistics and writeup in a minute.

Final Glyphs: Melio Falcis Sinestro Custos Volactus
Final Equipment: Valkyrie Mask Heart Cuirass Valkyrie Grieves World Ring Sun Ring
Time: 6:20:39 Map Completion: 88.90% Kills: 1548
Well, that's all for this challenge run of OoE. This was actually quite a bit of fun, outside a couple frustrating parts. I used a lot of glyphs a lot more than I normally would, and I found a couple real gems while I was at it. The whole Death Ring thing was just downright hillarious, with me gaining the ability to one shot nearly everything in the game, in exchange for dying to everything. Some of the boss fights were actually really fun, even on hard mode I just cheesed through most the battles, this time I genuinely had to learn how to fight them effectively. Funnily enough, I think Dracula himself would have been a lot more painful had I not just had a bunch of practice dodging everything due to my life depending on it. But yeah, I had fun. I do wish more people had followed this though, I seem to have problems getting people into my topics half the time. Admittedly, the formatting was horrid because I was copy/pasting from a OpenOffice file, and that took out all the indentation. I should have actually worked on that. Ah well, perhaps next time.
Well, thanks to everyone who followed this thread, I'd love to hear you comment. Until next time, goodbye!

From: Panthera | #055 Should have made the official conclusion to the run be letting him nuke you because you're not allowed to switch to the Dominus glyphs :p
Stupid bat wave attack indeed, that thing is nasty until you figure it out
Yeah, I thought of that. But, I'm calling Dominus a utility glyph. Besides, at that point I wanted to see Dracula dead. So very much.
Honestly, I only died to the bats because I forgot about them. They're really his least threatening attack once you learn them. I think his most dangerous attack is either the phantom dogs, or destruction rain.

Yeah the dogs are definitely the worst thing, just because he'll throw them out and then do something else so you have to try to focus on dealing with the dogs while also avoiding whatever other random attack he does. The bats *are* simple once you learn how to handle them, but until then, holy crap. Got to love ignoring mercy invincibility

And honestly, I didn't get hit all that much during his first phase. Not worth taking that much longer just to cheese it.
I actually find Volacticus cheese the fastest way to fight him since you never worry about getting hit and can unload lots of damage into him after each attack he makes, but your milage may vary.

I just personally got past Eligor because I didn't have the right equipment and went after him with Vol Ascia and Fius Fio for the whole battle (took me 15 minutes).

Well, perhaps. But I found I could basically hit him as much as attack timings would allow on his regular fireball attack (Falcis destroying all the fireballs while I was at it), and the other two attacks were more or less freebies. Didn't take too long for him to go down, and nothing really compares to nitesco sword/death ring/dominus agony cheesing.

Finally beat Ecclesia yesterday after dying to Dracula's bats several times (just the bats and nothing else) and seeing what would happen if I used the Dominus Union before the cutscene (it was pretty funny) and I started Albus mode on normal and finding it a whole lot easier than playing as Shanoa for some reason.

I bring order and chaos, I am life and death, creator and destroyer, just like the rest of humanity.
The reason is that Albus is ridiculous <_< It's a very fun bonus mode but he's definitely there to let you get revenge on the game for any deaths it may have caused, because he trivializes most of it.

That's what I thought. I missed the World Ring as Shanoa so I have a question of do I have to beat Dracula again if I want to go back and get the World Ring from the save right before fighting him or not
