Just found out my favorite artist is coming somewhat close to me but she's doing solo support for Andrew Bird. Does this mean she's just backing him up or something or would she be doing her own stuff?

Doesn't she tour with a band most of the time? I think this just means that she's the support act but solo (like only her and an acoustic guitar or something)
