I want to say that the extended version was done after the original intro. The video certainly was, as it doesn't appear to have any clips that aren't from the Friendship Express episodes.

Iron Will was awesome. And Fluttershy was pretty great too! I really like that they don't feel they have to cram all 6 mane ponies in the episode if it isn't necessary. Having just the 3 ponies was great for the episode. I also LOVED the valley girl ponies.

I rewatched the episode.

Yeah, I was too harsh in my original opinion. I still think Mega Flutter***** hurting her friends without much impetus was a little ridiculous, but it's still a pretty funny episode most of the time. I do love the conclusion, though.

Also, Lyra and Bon Bon together made me happy.

So, I finally got to see the new episode...

Holy crap, was that awesome or what? The suddenness of Fluttershy's personality change was a bit disconcerting, but overall I was seriously impressed with how much quality they managed to pack into just under 22 minutes of airtime. I absolutely love how they're continually expanding on the relationships between the main cast - did Rarity and Pinkie even have any significant interaction in season 1?

I really want to see a follow-up episode where Iron Will beats the **** out of Trixie and the Flim-Flams. Actually, even if it was just a fan-animation, it would still make me squee like a little girl. Someone, get on this idea quickly!

For me, the following episodes are a significant step in quality above all the rest:

I have a sneaking suspicion that it won't involve any ACTUAL time travel... but even so, I just don't think there's any way that a team with such a proven track record can screw up a great idea like this one.
