You know I have friends and some family who do things like this. They always choose the girl character or girly type items. I can see that the father was worried about the son being gay, but things like this has nothing to do with it. Can it lead to some femininity? Sure. But I myself grew up around a lot of women and my best friends were girls, so you gain some of it no matter what situation you are in. Beyond that I have zero problem being one of the guys and I highly doubt any one of you guys would list one of my traits as being feminine. You know the bigger thing having female characters and a female surrounding has taught me (and from what I can see my friends and faimily who I mentioned)? Respect for women and especially strong women. When Tomb Raider first came out did it draw girls in? Absolutely, but guys were still the dominant market and they ate it up like hotcakes. And you know what we all came away saying? Lara was a badass. There is nothing wrong with stuff like this as it portrays to games or any other form of media. You show me someone who hasnt watched a chick flick or musical with their mom and I will show you someone who has a poor relationship with his mother and potentially poor relationships with the other females in his life.
