Not really.

The only real similarity is that you're touching dots to music.

Edit: In fact, are we even touching dots and not pressing buttons?

EBA has pretty distinctive patterns and has more to the dot touching than every beat. The songs in EBA certainly seem more fun to play and are a lot more active. Theatrhythm is just boring songs to play from all of the videos that have been shown.
