"kinda of"

Yeah they're pretty good. Powerful stuff the first time you see them, but then I sort of just tuned them out...

This.

It's becoming annoying seeing powerful messages fail because of inadequate advertising.

I doubt these commercials would do anything, but at least they are trying. ****in fatties everywhere these days, its ridiculous.

"being fat takes the fun out of being a kid"

Honestly, doesn't this send out a really bad message to children about the vanity of society and how they should cave in to social pressure? I mean the reason to not be fat "should" be health and fitness reasons, not to "fit in".

I like the Irish one better, it shows more normal people rather than obese sacks who are probably told everyday that their weight is out of control.

Children shouldn't have the world sugarcoated for them. We live in an incredibly vain, superficial world. And if anyone gave a **** about their health they would have done something about it already. Nobody is like "i am obese this probably has no effect on my health at all". Same reason why smoking ads need to stop telling us about heart disease and start talking about how ****ing expensive smoking is....smokers clearly do not care about their health.

Children don't fully understand the health hazards, but you add it not being fun and they immediately will understand and take the message to heart...maybe. But I understand where you're coming from too.

The videos are probably aimed at parents, but kids do the choice of what to eat at school (assuming they dont bring a lunch), where in my experience kids pick pizza and junk food.

Well the first video says "75% of Georgian parents with overweight kids don't recognise the problem" so I'm assuming the whole series of videos is aimed at parents. Maybe they're aimed at different audiences.

Young kids are pretty much dependent on their parents for their eating habits anyway. Would be odd to launch an eating campaign aimed at 8 year olds with all the cases of child bulimia out there. Kids are impressionable enough to associate their bullying with eating too much and go overboard on cutting back.

Even with that if you get a proper meal in the evening at home, aren't given snack money and get some degree of exercise you shouldn't put on weight. Kids metabolisms are really fast. Parents have a lot of control in all this, not complete control but enough to prevent it from becoming a serious issue.
