Tournament was awesome. Hoping Ottawa drafts Cody Ceci this year and we get to see him on team Canada next year.

Just saying though...team Canada next year is going to be absolutely ridiculously stacked.

Ryan Strome will likely return, MacKinnon, Ceci, Monahan, Shinkaruk, Lazar (maybe), Reinhart, Murray, Dumba, etc. etc.

oh no, two guys who wouldn't have made it in were voted in by the fans! what a travesty !!

only Michalek and Phaneuf were on the fringe. Karlsson is a clear all-star, Spezza is 11th in scoring, Tim Thomas is Tim Thomas, and Alfy was always going to be a captain for this game anyway.

Some people think the NHLPA is going to use it as a bargaining chip for CBA negotiations next year. Makes sense, but if the NHLPA is going to act like this then we are definitely headed for another lockout.

For those debating Rangers Versus Bruins

Boston is 13-5 against playoff teams with a 68 to 32 goal differential. It should be noted that 7 of these wins are from 7th and 8th seeds, and 10 if you go up to 5th. 46 of their goals are also from beating 8to5 teams.

The Rangers are 11-6 against playoff teams with a 52 to 38 goal differential.They've scored about the same against the 8to5 and 4to1 (25 and 27), but have somehow allowed less goals against better teams (27 versus 8to5 and 11 versus 4-1). Granted they've played one more game versus a 4to1 seeded team, but 11 goals versus the other top 6 teams in the league in 8 games is totally nuts.

Boston has the best goal differential by far (+29 on the next best team in the field...Detroit), but if you only count the top 6 teams The Rangers have a better differential than Boston (and a better record)

Note: I did not account for points added after a shootout since I'm lazy, but Boston has 3 SO wins versus the Rangers 1.

Technically a 10 game suspension, but I don't see the league doing that for something that gray.

my issue is that he should have been on the bench before doing anything. like he couldn't have turned around and hit Thornton from behind if Thornton and Burrows were just fighting for the puck, why is it OK to do it when Burrows and Thornton are scrumming it up?

I'm not sure, all I know is that the league treats coming back on the ice (granted he was only half on the bench) and still on the ice differently.

A lot was going on in that fight, I think they can call roughing as well, but looking at the replay Henrik took a quick shot a quickly went to the bench, refs missing that isn't too surprising.

Hank was on the ice legally as a result of a stoppage of play during a line change and quickly got off the ice when he realized that 5 canucks were already on the ice, but i was surprised he didn't get a 2 minute penalty. He'll probably face a fine. Did he even get a hit on thornton? Looks like he was hovering around but i may have missed something.

Officials were terrible that game, but at least they were consistently terrible.
