Mario is Missing is from the offshoot timeline where Mario never became the Party Star, and disappeared in shame. Luigi then goes on a quest to find him.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible for all the Mario Parties to be in the same timeline.

After all the crap that happens each time they try to celebrate, I refuse to believe that they continue to try to have parties.

I was always under the impression Mario is missing takes place right before Luigi's mansion.

Also, Super Mario Galaxy 1's ending retcons the events of the game out of existence, a la Sonic 2006. As far as the timeline is concerned, it never happened.
