Yeah, I own UC2 so I'll end up playing it one way or another. But I'm pretty sure I'll get the hang of it just fine.

That being said, I'm probably going to take a break here to play some Zelda.

Just thought I mention, my favorite part of the GoW3 ending, is that everything finally came full circle and Kratos was able to jump off the cliff and end his life like he wanted to do in the first one.

I was pretty satisfied.

I didn't think of it that way either. That's pretty good. I figured hey, he's pretty much done all the damage he can do and has nothing left now, he pretty much has to kill himself.

But then we've seen him escape death how many times now? Just because he killed himself again doesn't mean he's permanently dead. If they want to make another game, which they might, it'll be quite easy for him to live again.

Uncharted is really fun, but I'm guessing it's not as cinematic as the following entries. This game focuses on the third-person shooter aspect and platforming, while the story while present seems to take a backseat to the action.

The game starts out in the ocean with Drake dragging from the depths a box which is supposedly Sir Francis Drake's coffin. But it's empty! Except for his journal. The girl with him, Elena (I've heard that name some, I'm guessing she's a major character in the series), is all excited and stuff for her TV show.

Suddenly, pirates attack! The first time that I played this part I kept dying as I couldn't figure out the controls. I'll admit it's been a while since I played a console shooter, so no matter how I inverted the controls, it did not feel right. After fooling around for a while, I finally got to what felt right, which was inverting the Y-axis for aiming. That way the camera control matched the aiming controls.

So Drake shoots up the pirates and Sully shows up in a plane as his boat explodes (was it Drake's boat or Elena's?). Drake and Elena get in the boat and head off to land. Then, as Elena waits outside, Drake and Sully run off to a location in South America searching for El Dorado. lol Elena you suck.

Drake and Sully explore the jungle and fins some ruins, which introduces platforming(Drake climbs a lot) and some basic puzzles. I like that Drake's jumping is pretty realistic, but they are still able to incorporate jumping puzzles. I also like the back and forth with Sully during the gameplay, it makes it seem more natural. Still Drake's voice sounds disembodied sometimes... it's hard to explain.

They emerge out the back side of the temple without grabbing any treasure, but then they find a German U-boat stuck on a waterfall of all places. How interesting.

I won't be able to react much to your playthrough of Uncharted as I never finished it. I got to... some point before I gave up because I sucked so bad. Uncharted 2 is way way better in every way. Can't wait for you to get to that.

Drake decides to go to the sub, and Sully stays behind. The game is pretty, and I'm surprised it's almost 5 years old. The next segment platforming was alright, felt like it was just showing the cliffhanging mechanics here. Inside the sub, turns out that some Germans were all dead inside it but don't know why. I knew that Sully staying behind would pose a liability; turns out some Brit has him hostage and wants the journal and the map.

Then the guy wants to shoot Drake. Sully is like "come on man don't shoot him" so the bad guy shoots Sully instead. Really!? You guys aren't even trying to hide the fact that you are copying Indiana Jones!

Anyway, Drake runs away and the game allows a little bit of action this time. I thought it took long enough without any sort of shooting! Oh, and Elena followed them somehow... not really sure how she did that. They work together to shoot out these bad guys in the temple. It was neat of them to reuse the temple for the fight sequences. Made going back through there feel different.

I thought the game looked pretty too, at first. Then I played Uncharted 2, and then Uncharted 3. Both of which are WAY prettier.

Also there's more shooting and not as much platforming in the first game. The second game has better scenes and better platforming, and more balanced shooting.

Drake and Elena take a plane to the island indicated by a map in that sub. There are missles that shoot them down, and they are separated.

This next segment is so unremarkable. Fighting in the jungle with small groups of enemies is so forgettable, but I still enjoyed it. By the time that I reached the castle place, I had completely mastered the controls and was enjoying the shoot-outs.

ShadowHalo, I don't think that I will be starting UC2 anytime soon. My work/school schedule is such that I won't be playing much anytime soon.

The Fortress area was interesting to explore, but the cliffhanging stuff was annoying. I was confused at the event where saving Elena until I realized that Drake is supposed to get captured. After a small cinematic, Drake and Elena drive off in a jeep and I totally own the ensuing vehicle segment. I really liked that chase scene a lot.

They follow that up immediately with a less-than-enjoyable jetski sequence. No aiming and driving at the same time? What gives?

Jetski sequence finished, Nate beats up a few baddies in order to open another gate and... ride the jetski again! whyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Drake wants to leave, Elena doesn't. He misses his opportunity to get on the boat, but Sully is ALLLLIIIIVVVEEE!!!! That was no surprise to me, but I guess when the game was new that may have been a plot twist.

Oh look, Uncharted is calling back to "Elsa give me your hand!" Except Elena actually gives Nate her hand. No more camera yay

I was highly disappointed by the jet ski section. When I first got onto it I was like hell yeah I hope this is an awesome high speed cinematic-like gameplay. But nope, just more slow progress and tons of shooting. It was soon after that I stopped playing.

Luckily Uncharted 2 is full of awesome to make up for it.

Another jetski sequence, this time on the rapids. This one was different, but not any better than previous jetski sequences.

This monastary area has been really fun, and hooray new weapons. The trap with plane bits was kind of weird, but whatever. The big central area was a fun shootout, and the laser sights was a nice new combat mechanic. Why can't Nate have a laser sight when he uses the desert-5? Not fair. Sully was being held captive in the library, and looks like the diary saved his life. Good for him.

So, if this passageway that Nate went in is so secret, why is it full of mercenaries? Anyway, Nate overhears the bad guys talking, and Eddy is fired from the british guy's service.

The next platforming sequence in the chapel was a terrible pain. It seems that Nate would randomly fall short of the jumps I was trying to make. Finally, I got him to pull down those keys and open the window.

You don't need laser sights when you aim weapons, the enemies only have them for your sake. So you know that if you get shot by them, it's gonna be bad news bears.

"Sully, it's a trap!" I'm still not sure what trap Nate is talking about, but he pushed Sully back through the hole they walked through. The next platforming section had something to do with the roman numerals everywhere, and it kept telling me to look in Drake's journal. I didn't learn much there, so I just went through the room into I ran into that Eddy guy again. After a shootout, they find Drake's body.

Nate gets all sad that Drake died and drops the ring. Then a bunch of monsters appear. MONSTERS IN MY UNCHARTED WHAT. Eddy dies, yay! Drake that noble hero trying to save his life. Anyway they get chased by the monsters to a dry dock made by the Germans. How very interesting. Nate is going to go out by himself, leaving Elena ALONE AND UNPROTECTED! lol Elena.

More monsters. This part was pretty boring, I gotta say. Nate goes and does something, finds out that El Dorado is bad news, and goes back to find Elena captured. Of course, Drake. This would happen to you.

Nate fights his way out of the bunker and back to Sully, who is in the central courtyard. omg what a plot twist! The Navarro guy knew all along about the curse(doesn't tell us how he knows)! Drake follows him via helicopter to the ocean, where the final showdown occurs.

This fight sequence is eh. Navarro is completely predictable, so it just comes down to a timing game. The closing cinematic leaves me wanting, and of course Nate doesn't get to kiss the girl.

I liked the music during the credits though. This was fun.

This is a 9.5/10 game for me. Very fun with just the right balance between shooting and platforming. The graphics are consistently gorgeous and the plot while cliched and cheesy had me interested the whole time. I can't wait to play this again on Hard and Crushing.

God of War 3 - Poseidon

HEYO! Surprise update. This one won't be very long because I played some of this a long time ago (aka weeks ago) and don't feel like replaying from the beginning.

Like I said before, the opening cinematic was absolutely stunning. The graphics in this game are SO GOOD I sometimes lose track of Kratos. Not because I can't see him, but because I want to look at all the other s*** instead. I watched as the titans got taken down one by one until its finally just me and Gaia. The second fight with the Hippocamp was a lot more difficult, simply because I didn't feel like evading. I just went with a straight offensive approach and almost died. Oh well, I knew I could take it out.

I found Zeus' Eagle (!!!), but I can't use it til the end of the game apparently. Ohhhh holy s***. We can do climbing combos now? F*** yes.

The boss fight with Poseidon began and I was still in awe of this game. I can't tell what is a cinematic, what is gameplay, and when the two are the same. This is ridiculous. Sometimes I just sit there and think I'm watching a cutscene and it turns out I'm supposed to do something and then I die. I dislodged the claws from Gaia's head, smacked Poseidon around some, then dislodged the claws again and flew straight through Poseidon's water body.

I love how the boss battle was done. It was great seeing the action from Poseidon's perspective, so you're literally hitting QTE button to kill your point of view. Then Gaia turned out to be a traitorous b****. Looks like Kratos is really on his own now.

God of War 3 - Hades

Haven't we already done this before? It seems a little repetitive to have to go through this whole drama again, getting my powers drained and having to make it through the underworld. I don't trust Athena one bit. I'll use the Blades of Exile, but not for one second do I believe she's really trying to help me.

The Army of Sparta seems to be a really cool attack. Perfect for whenever you get surrounded by enemies, which seems to happen a lot early in these games. I also love how killing a Gorgon freezes all nearby enemies in this game. I thought it was kinda stupid how many attacks it took to break a frozen enemy though, I could never get more than a few.

I ran across Peirithous, who I don't even recall from Greek mythology so he must not be very important. Kratos didn't think so either, as he rodeo'd a Cerberus and burnt him to a crisp. What a boss.

As I progressed through Hades, I noticed one of the notes said "He could have saved me. He held my life in his hand, and still he let go. I may have been just a mere boat captain, but he treated me as if I was nothing!" Bahahaha that lousy boat captain from the first one makes his third cameo of the series.

Hephaestus was completely underwhelming and I’m pissed Kratos didn’t just kill his ass right now. I finally made it to the Palace of Hades, at which point I decided to upgrade my Blades of Exile and Apollo’s Bow.

When I encountered the Minotaurs, I realized you could punt the puppies at them. Freakin awesome. Puppy punting is my new favorite part of the God of War series. Hades blames Kratos for Persephone being in a casket. Uhh…what did I miss here? I never killed Persephone. Regardless, I used her casket to break into his chest to fight him. He blames me for Athena, okay. I killed his brother. Fair. I didn’t kill his damn wife though! Hades is dum. The boss battle was pretty typical, but I enjoyed the tug of war part. I finally escaped from Hades to see Helios flying across the sky.

God of War 3 - Helios

I came across Gaia and showed her why she f***ed with the wrong Spartan. I think the scene would’ve been better if she was pleading with Kratos while he was chopping her hand away, but whatever. It was still cool. I gutted another Centaur and faced some big ass chimera looking thing. It wasn’t too difficult. I was kind of confused when Kratos shot an arrow at Helios to help the titan out. I thought he didn’t like the titans either anymore? Maybe he just hates Gaia and the rest are still cool.

I loved that Kratos smashed that citizen’s head into the wall when he was trying to escape the burning building. Kratos don’t give a s***. The scene with Helios was amazing. Kratos ripping off his head while he screamed was the goriest thing so far in this series, which is saying a lot. I absolutely loved it. I guess I’ll just go ahead and end then section now since Helios is already dead? I think I’ll do it that way. Short section, but thoroughly enjoyable.
