I had Link at 59% for a while, then at 62%, then finally caved and went 60-65% because I felt like I was getting greedy.

I thought there would be a slim chance of Link going 1 or 2% below 60%, but never as low as 54. Given Link's performance against Cloud, and the recent release of Skyward Sword, how did anyone see this coming?!

Why is it that 99% of the contest starts out extremely predictable and has to end like this? First Pokemon beating Cloud and now Link barely beating Mario. I think SBAllen must be screwing with the votes.

Link has faced Mario 3X to date and he's never finished below 62%.

According to my calculations, I had Link winning 60.47 to 39.53; not surprisingly, I was hoping we'd get to choose exactly what range we wanted to pick in the final (57.5-62.49). When I saw the form and the tiebreaker by time, I knew I had to pick quickly, and since I didn't recall Link ever getting less than 1.5x as many votes as Mario (60-40) in any previous contest, I made the quick decision to go with Link 60-65.

Doesn't look like I'd have gotten it even if I could pick the tiebreaker I wanted, but darn, it was a nice run.

Mario > Trainers > Cloud. It would be pretty outrageous to suggest that SFF would put Mario more than a few % down from what Cloud got. I wasn't entirely sure that Link would win today!

Of course, my 50-60% bet means nothing with my far less than perfect battle score.
