I think I did this last year too. Anyway, I'm putting together my year-end list (which will either start or end on Christmas, depending on when the Common record comes out) and noticed that I listened to some really bad albums. Just awful. So here they are! Avoid them at all cost, unless you have the unfortunate circumstance of knowing Biolizard in real life and need a Christmas present.
First album is the worst, btw.
1 | Lupe Fiasco | Lasers 2 | Architecture in Helsinki | Moment Bends 3 | The Dears | Degeneration Street 4 | DJ Shadow | The Less You Know, the Better 5 | Justice | Audio, Video, Disco 6 | Thurston Moore | VDSQ Solo Acoustic Volume Five 7 | Beyonce | 4 8 | The Antlers | Burst Apart 9 | Atlas Sound | Parallax 10 | Beirut | The Rip Tide

Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And well change the world.
Yeah, Justice's album was a huge disappointment for me. I should listen to it again to see if my first impression (seriously a ~3.5/10) holds up. I hope it doesn't, because I really like those guys, but still. They should have just stuck with their huge, grimy, nasty electro-funk sound. It really worked for them.

From: the icon ownz all | #003 i think i might move burst apart to 10. i enjoyed a song from it, which is more than i can say for the two records "ahead" of it.
i didn't really expect the album to be any good, extha. this isn't an album bad in comparison to others - though it doesn't stack up well to anything. if moment bends was the only album to ever exist, it would still be a tremendous pile of garbage.
From: blindhobo13 | #007 Which song?
every night my teeth are falling out. it could use a better ending but it's a fine song.
Burst Apart there definitely seems harsh. Safe, yeah. Inoffensive, yeah. But it's always at least pleasant and there are two great songs on there. I've heard way weaker albums this year.
if you're not familiar with their older stuff, in case we die and places like this are cool records for those looking for some manic pop. i've gotten into gang gang dance this year, and I think they pull that off better than architecture in helsinki, so you might want to look into them too. gang gang dance's last two records are killer.

so have i, which is why it's the lowest on this list.
"countdown" is legit but i haven't heard the rest of 4. beyonce's only worth exploring for her singles (which are usually quite good) in my experience.
From: the icon ownz all | #011 can you tell my why people like 4? I know people with good taste in pop music and they're calling it aoty. it's bewildering.
No clue! I like a handful of Beyonce songs but I always figured she was just like Rihanna and put out great singles with mediocre albums (though I've never listened to a full Beyonce album besides this).
