See, some people troll because they know they're better than everyone else and know full well how much being a strong, confident person bothers the weak. Guys like User, foolmo, Revenus, Sess, realo, Commodore, Shake a few years ago, etc.
All that stuff Little League and your mom taught you about everyone being a winner is wrong, but you won't learn that until you try getting a job and your boss yells at you the first time.
I kept the parts in your quote that I felt like commenting on. But yes, it is true. I don't need to argue with most of the people on B8. I don't need to really do much of anything. Look at this topic alone, for example. They brought up the lawyer thing for me, and then allowed themselves to become bitter over it. It is like they did my dirty work for me. This board seems to be a safe haven for those who severely lack confidence. Most people here legitimately need this place. They need the other board members to tell them how great they are and give them UotY votes. They don't know what they would do if they didn't have each other. This is the primary reason I come to this board. I don't like most of the people here...so they aren't the attraction. It is how I can feast on them. Some may say I am being mean. I, however, believe I am just being a troll. Trolling is fun, and those with confidence can laugh about it at the end of the day.
The best board on gamefaqs is the Baseboard. Alec can confirm this. They are all like me...confident, sarcastic, subtle trolls. We hunt the non-regulars down and never let up once they make a mistake. We mock them to death...and even mock each other. We will attack each other when we make a mistake or say something stupid. However, if an outsider is arguing with a regular, we tend to go with "I agree with anyone who is colored yellow in this topic." You can just tell those guys are more confident and can take everything dished out there. I think it is good...makes people grow thicker skin, gain more confidence, and always have a witty retort. If only this board could learn!
And as for your boss yelling comment...amen to that. I get yelled at daily by my boss. So does everyone in our firm. I can't even stand him....but hey...he signs the paycheck. So I take the abuse. On a rarity he will hand out compliments though. I got 2 in 2 days this week! I'm on a roll.

also being a lawyer in real life means very little, there are a lot of crappy lawyers. i'm going to law school in 2 years, doesn't mean i'm better than everyone else once i graduate ><
the thing that always bothered me about guys like user (and especially SephG) is why would you waste your time trolling, especially on something as inconsequential as a harry potter save my. I barely post here anymore, once I get out of law school i doubt i will at all.
Once you graduate law school you will learn that trolling in Harry Potter save my contests is the best use of your free time. You can even brag about being a lawyer, and thus, being smarter than the other voters. That is one of the perks of being a lawyer...it automatically makes you a genius by default.
I'm going to attempt to transfer to Penn from community college for next year. My GPA isn't perfect but i figure with all my political stuff (ran for office at 18 and have been doing stuff since i was 14) i might have an outside shot. If I don't get in I'm gonna try and go there for law school. We'll see.

Speaking of which...I need to go to sleep already. I do bankruptcy, and I need to finish up my Answer to one of the creditor's lawyer's Motion to Dismiss. I love bankruptcy because there is very little litigation and court work involved...but this creditor's attorney is being such a pain. And the worst part is that everyone, himself included, knows he has no legitimate case. He's just trying to make my life difficult. Basically he figures that if I am going to screw over his client, he might as well force me to do a lot of extra work. At least that is really all I have on the table for tomorrow. But you see...trolling is my night job. It is my time to unwind. I take it very seriously as is evident by the fact that I'm up doing it at around 1am.

Just take as many easy A classes as you can. It's all about the GPA and LSATs. They don't care what you take. Get the best grades you can...and of course it couldn't hurt to do it in a well-known school like Penn (assuming you mean Penn State).

I meant UPenn. I could get into Penn State pretty easily, i have around a 3.7 and i'm going to be a polisci major, which i have more experience in than damn near every applicant. I was the youngest candidate in the state, I was just a month over 18 on primary day. I'm confident I'll at least get into, idk, Nova or Drexel or something.

UPenn...even better. I didn't assume UPenn since it's ivy league and you were coming out of community college...but if you can get in then that will obviously guarantee you at least a decent law school. And as for Drexel, my friend just graduated from their law school. It was interesting...they were on trimesters but will be switching to two semesters soon.
Transferring into Ivy tier colleges is really difficult. When I did transfer apps, Harvard had an acceptance rate of 2%. Penn's rate is probably higher, but I doubt it exceeds 10%.
