It's still a palindrome, silly. ...Wait, no, I was thinking of year first. You do DD/MM/YYYY.

In English, and like no other language. Everyone else says DD/MM/YY, and besides:

>>> no this is wrong

Actually, the rest of the world is wrong. Mainly because they developed all of their bad habits when they were busy being pissant subject nations of the British.

Though technically, if we were going to argue that there was a specific, given, globally proper way to list the date order, we'd probably have to default to actual global international Internet technical standards, which would make this 2011/11/02 (which is in itself still a palindrome). And since China and a bunch of other Asian countries use that standard, that means it's already supported by about 1/4th of the Earth's population natively, in addition to all the people in other countries who use it technically.

Plus, it'll be really convenient if, when the Chinese eventually take over the world, we're already used to giving the date the same way they do.

You realize that the English created the middle endian format, right.

So you're bashing your own country.

EDIT: Unless you are indeed from somewhere else. But then you're still bashing the wrong country.

Also, more of the world's population use the big endian format, so DD/MM/YY isn't even the most used, and you also lose in that regard.

YYYYMMDD is best because an alphanumeric sort will put dates in order. That's why filenames always use this format. It's just better than anything else.
