well I guess he doesn't consider the factory workers actual people. since they generally work harder, longer hours, and more dangerous jobs than a large majority of the wealthy.

actually equality in wealth leads to lower crime rates, higher education standards, etc.

criminals generally target those who are already around them: other lower class peons. who cares if a few serfs do bad things to each other? lower education standards is also great because it ensures that the drones don't value intelligence, wouldn't want them to realize that they're being exploited.

Exploited? They're not being exploited, rather, they are exploiting good capitalists by taking their money and giving it to themselves through the engine of taxes. How can they be exploited when their labor isn't even in demand anymore?

Where is the data that the wealthy actually generate wealth proportional to their earnings then? CEOs, bureaucrats and mutual fund managers all earn far more than the wealth they generate. The first and the third because their abilities are overrated. The second because they actively do harm.

For the income inequality thing

And to point out, income inequality isn't necessarily proof that exploitation has gone on. Pick the example of an entrepreneur who funds a start up that quickly grows to 5 million+ in value. Who's getting exploited here? Given that many technologies have been created that ALLOW small groups of people to leverage their marginal advantage over other people, increasing income inequality doesn't necessarily mean increasing lower class exploitation.

Of course most of the wealthy don't generate wealth. (People who innovate in technology do generate wealth) But that's just the thing- labor just isn't worth very much in our economy, labor from anyone. Ideas and capital are worth a lot.
