It took a while, because last year Better With You was dragging it down, and Mr. Sunshine was only "alright", but with Happy Endings finally nailing down the closing spot, and Suburgatory being the best new comedy of the year (New Girl and 2 Broke Girls are close seconds, but the gap widens every week), It's finally happened. Community is still awesome, and it and Parks probably make the best hour of TV, but The Office is merely "great", and Whitney varies between "Something to watch between The Office and Sunny" and "Terrible".
If you asked me which network had the best comedies overall, that would be harder, because NBC gains 30 Rock and Up All Night, while ABC gains Cougar Town, which is a plus, as well as Last Man Standing and Man Up, which are strong minuses.
CBS only has 3 comedies on that level, and I could see myself getting sick of 2 Broke Girls before the year is out, and HIMYM and BBT aren't enough. Fox only has 2 sitcoms (and the Sunday Night McFarlane Block of Keeping **** Going for Years and Years and Years and also American Dad which is inexplicably good), but both are really great, and if they keep that pace up, they might be competing soon.
FX beats them all though, because you simply cannot name a funnier group of comedies than Sunny/League/Louie/Archer/Wilfred. Cannot be done.
Man, if you had said best, that would be more correct (Louie is awesome and great, but not always funny), but the five funniest shows on tv are:
The League (incredible gap) Parks and Rec Archer Community Happy Endings
And if I had to name a next five, there wouldn't be any more NBC shows (maybe 30 Rock, but I think it would include Modern Family, Sunny, Suburgatory, Wilfred, and Tosh.0).
