Homestuck (not really for the art, although the styles grow on you)

Gunnerkrigg Court (the art starts terrible and gets REALLY good later on)

....I don't read that many webcomics for the art. And more often than not with webcomics, the art is awful as it starts, then gradually becomes good. My gf reads Questionable Content (though it's not my thing) and that's probably the best example I can think of.

nerfnow, but you need to play TF2/other PC games to understand many of the jokes. It probably has the most clever/subtle jokes in any webcomic I've ever read though.

I don't know if you would necessarily consider it good art but I do like the artstyle of Axe Cop too

Questionable Content is a great example of a comic where the art style has drastically improved throughout its run.

Unfortunately, it's not a great example of a good comic.

Homestuck, although I second the "mediocre art that grows on you" caveat.

I'm partial to Sandra and Woo's art, myself. Simple, clean, and old-school with just a hint of the animoos.
