Slow start to the game... fetching komodo scals is the /least/ entertaining sidequest I've ever heard of. Only it's a part of the main plot... hm. Well, I do it... there's absolutely nothing to say here until I pass out and wake up in a parallel world!

Where I died 10?years ago and there seems to be no other difference...?

I've noticed that so far the characters in this game seem to have really really really shallow motivation for joining you... Kid's is unstated, and I hope it, y'know, comes up eventually...

I do like her, though!

So anyway, I'm in Termina... So far my favorite character is Korcha but if I remember he uses a fishing rod or something ridiculous in battle. So I assume that I can grab Miguel and take a boat with him. Other options seem to be taking Mikki through the forest and rescuing Nikki, and bringing Pierre to the front gate.

Guess my question is, is Korcha as useless as I remember? 'Cause that kid's way cool.

Korcha doesn't join this soon either way. Now the question is about Guile, Pierre, or Nikki.
I've never actually used Korcha; too many characters and I don't like what he looks like.

So after (not) much deliberation, I decided to recruit Pierre's hat. It insisted we take its friend Pierre with.

And um.

We can tell you're faking that accent, Pierre. The nominative form of "moi" is "je". One of my headmates kind of speaks French, so it's REALLY GRATING the way you are forcing this on me, monsieur.

so, we went to Fossil Valley to see how Pierre fights. I was rather unimpressed, but I grabbed the egg and the blue flower thing and the skull.

We got to Viper Manor, and as I expected they were rather unimpressed with Pierre's swordsmanship. Yeah, I figured his 3 damage low-accuracy attack wasn't exactly Dragoon material.. So he has a plan B, which is... to charge right on in?!

Fortunately, this is before they invented any kind of re-enforcement system or communication between any other part of the building, so everything goes fine. We get a key from some dragon lady, and just kind of waltz right in. Through a trap door and -- it's pip! We free Pip. Pip pip cheerio.
