Do you use it? Do you like it? Would you recommend it? Is there a better alternative? Is there a cheaper alternative?

I use it, I like it, I would recommend it if you have a beefy computer system or can mess with the settings of what you're recording (I have to run stuff at low resolution to make sure it records full speed, no full screen 1680x1050 stuff). From all the alternatives I've seen, FRAPS has worked by far the best.
I used it when I played WoW and it worked pretty well. My computer wasn't the best, so the recording was a bit slower than it could have been.. but it was pretty awesome for how easy it was to use. Got it for free as well...
I'm not sure if there are more options for recording these days, but when I used it the files were always saved uncompressed, so they were HUGE before I got to converting them.
I was thinking about using it to make a Let's Play. My computer was custom built for gaming, so I think it would work ok. I'm sure I could mess with the settings. The games I play aren't too high end.

I used to use it, ages ago, so I'm not sure how it is now. I have camtasia though, and I use that. However, the drawbacks are extreme memory use and expensive.
