Board 8 > Does anyone know how to unlock a phone?

I have a (somewhat old) Sony Ericsson w810i that I haven't used in over a year, but I'd like to unlock it and take it with me to Europe when I'm on vacation. I've done some googling, and I find it unbelievable that the only way to get an unlock code is to pay some sketchy online site to generate it for me.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't have the USB cable for it any more so uploading a hacked firmware doesn't look like an option.

Have they really kept phone unlock codes generation a secret this well?

To get the phone unlock code, you have to beat the T-Mobile Store level on Expert difficulty in under 3 minutes. Good luck!

Does your phone us a SIM card? If so, you should be able to just use a different SIM card bought wherever you're going.

yeah. I went over that in the pm. I think all ericson 810 providers were/are quad band, and use sim cards.
