Good Mod question: Why is the tou so bad, why do fellow mods abuse their power.

Bad Mod question: Why do you abuse your power, some question that basically says why do you suck.


Thats literally what every question would be from this board. (and why I avoid mod topics normally)

I'd wager that the average board 8 regular is far more interesting than the average GameFAQs user.

this board doesn't really care about mods. it's not even a bad relationship -- though we have had some issues here lately -- it's just that nobody actually cares about talking to a mod here. it's not a big deal for us. we used to have SBAllen topics on this board and they'd get 30-40 posts max. we're not that kind of board.

This. Also, the whole mods as a topic of conversation never really comes up on b8 except for when someone complains about a moderation or someone from another board shows up and makes a topic about them. If they're not pissing b8ers off, b8 forgets they exist (except Red and TRE but they are long-time members of the community and if they didn't have (M) or (moderator) displayed, it would be easy to forget they are mods at all)

We can just ask red/TRE or even ngirl if we want to know more about mods... TRE is usually very quick with providing information when we ask, and ngirl is just as quick to provide mod-only info, so B8 has a pretty well-rounded understanding of the mod system already.

As for this topic, OTACON, it's not your fault, really, it's just that any topic involving the discussion of mods eventually leads to the discussion of the many "bad mod experiences" that this board has encountered.

That Devin Morgan topic was the best though. Backfired harder than any other topic I have ever seen.

Probably

The topic will probably end up with so many moderations that the mods will probably just delete the entire topic altogether and you'll get with with a warning or something.

Also, to everyone else, I'd like to make it known that, due to your very prominent feedback, along with the general interest of making the series more userbase focused and keeping it fresh and interesting, we've dropped the "moderator" exclusivity and will simply be interviewing "some of the most well known users in GameFAQs' storied culture." That doesn't mean that moderators won't still be interviewed if they wish to be, but they also won't be the FOCUS of the series.
