Announced tonight via Twitter he'd be enrolling at Uconn to play basketball this season.
This is a huge deal. If he could have gone pro this summer he would have been the number 1 pick and will likely be a top 3 pick next summer.
He is a monster. Only 18 and already 6-10 265. NBA build already. He needs some polish The biggest knock on him is his lack of consistent effort.
This makes Uconn a top 3 team and puts them on the same level as Kentucky and UNC.
The story with Drummond is that he was originally with the 2011 class with Rivers, Gilchrist and Davis but he was going to move back a year so he could just go to prep and go straight to the league(loophole in the one and done rule).
He was the concensus #1 player in the 2012 class until Shabazz Muhammad blew up this summer and pushed him to #2.
Just a few weeks ago Drummond had announced he would indeed prep for a year and stay with the 2012 high school class, putting to rest any rumors he'd come out this year. Until just a few hours ago when he announced on Twitter he would play for Uconn this upcoming season.
As a Kentucky fan, I hate Uconn and Jim Calhoun but I'm interested to see drummond play in college.
