It's a dystopian novel set in 2044 but is a love letter to the 80s. Each page has me nearly in tears from nostalgia. It's an awesome old school quest story too. The premise is this guy who grew up in the 80s made this massive virtual reality world and when he dies, he leaves his fortune to whoever can find all the keys to a vault. To find it, you need to have immense knowledge of 80s pop culture, which brings retro to this future world.
It was featured on geek chic daily today, but I actually bought it a week ago so I've been reading it. I'm telling you it will probably end up being my favorite book ever.
The living conditions are really interesting. Everyone lives on a Stack, which literally is a stack of trailers. They all try to live in the virtual reality world as much as possible to avoid their awful existence.
