Don't know how many players there are here, but for those of you that read my last topic, I tried going to that terrible place again, Legions.
This time, I placed third out of 28.
It was a booster draft of m12.
First pick was Garruk. Second pick, Overrun. Third? Jade Mage.
So of course at this point I'm thinking mono green, maybe splash in something else depending on my other packs.
I then went on to recieve no other green cards, besides a rampant growth.
Second pack, I think I opened a Solemn Silacrum, and then the dude next to me passes me an Angelic Destiny.
I ran a U/W deck and melted faces with Angelic Destiny. I only lost to a guy who was running a mill deck.
I had 2 pacifisms, 2 oblivion rings, 3 mana leaks, among other things, 2 gideon's lawkeepers, so I was able to keep most games on lockdown until I was able to pop out angelic destiny. Having a mind control definately didn't hurt.
I got 20 dollars in store credit, along with a few really great matches, so it definately brought up my opinion of the store, as there wasn't anyone blatantly cheating this time (the guy who placed first was the guy I lost to....he had a Frost Titan and Gideon in his deck, but it was the mill that won him the game).
Notes:Definately run with what people are passing you. At first, I was running 3 colors, but then after the first match, I took out all the green, and my deck ran much more smoothly.
Also ponder is really good, so I should stop passing that when picking blue next time.
