Just a warning, this game is HARD especially offhost. Just play smart if you're new until you get used to controlling the puck. Space out, don't chase the puck if a teammate is going after it, just stay out high or in front of the net if someone else is getting it. Use your body to box out and check if you're having a hard time stealing/hitting the puck away from opponents.

It's not impossible. It's just impossible for newbs. I've seen some real competitive games between good players where you can't rely on someone screwing up a shot or pass. I've actually seen people dangle around defenders too.

having played real hockey, I'm going to say that this is much harder than just doing it myself in real life

although it's a great idea, I'd like to play some games

Of course it's harder than real life. It's not handing the puck to you on glue like EA NHL. The whole point is no compromise, you actually have to have a lot of skill beyond carrying it up the ice and one timing or twiddling the deke stick.

well yeah EA NHL is super dumbed down, but I'm talking about like going to the nearest hockey rink and playing some literal ice hockey with gear and skates and a stick

my issue is that the server was lagging or something because my actions were delayed by a good half second. costed us more than a few goals because basically a drunk guy sucks at clearing the zone

I'll check it out sometime

Play in servers with a ping lower than 100. Plays smooth for me if I do.
