Nice art, nice music, nothing that offensive, basically just a discord and forum rolled into an avatar lounge.

I guess there's VR chat, but the problem is that you have to be around the kind of people who use VR chat.

There's a surprising lot of stuff you can do in Eve Online without ever leaving Hi-Sec but you'll need to chat up other players to do most of it. Turns the game into like a social engineering game.

Did they ever change the real time skill progression?

You can progress while offline. I dunno if they added things to make it faster.
