And sure, sometimes you need to fit in exposition in an uncanny way if you don't have the runtime, but that's almost all you hear from any of the main characters. They should not added the musicians in the cave in episode three. The inventor or his son could have easily explained the cave of two lovers to Sokka and Katara instead. The show came across less as a adaptation and more as a rearranged recreation.
