Would I go to the Soul Society if I died while in Japan? Or do they get funneled back to their home country's afterlife?

Seems like everyone goes to Soul Society? It doesn't seem like Reverse London houses an afterlife. It's more of just an alternate realm where strong people live amongst the Dragons.

Since nationality doesn't matter to souls, there would be two scenarios I see reasonably.

1. You go to the afterlife in charge of the area you are born.
2. You go to the afterlife in charge of the area you die.

The latter would probably be more convenient logically. Yes, I realize I am trying to apply logic to a shounen anime.

The way I see it, you're sent to the afterlife that corresponds to the region where you died, regardless of your actual origins of nationality. Now, whether they get transferred to their region's afterlife or Soul Society, or are just stuck in an unfamiliar afterlife forever is another matter.

I wonder. Apparently all that's ever been shown is the Soul Society and that dragon place that the UK has. I've never actually seen that spinoff though. So I know nothing about the dragon place

I assume you simply depart to whatever Soul society branch you were closest towards upon death. Thats assuming there are branches of them that exist. Which they likely do since it seems unlikely the JP one, or at least what we see of it in the anime and manga can handle it all world wide.

I think the same as anyone else, looking at Chad and Tosen.

We only know of the main one and Reverse London, which is the "West Branch," and it doesn't seem to fulfill the same purpose. The main Soul Society has the main city and various districts, all of which are based on feudal Japan. It's really just that Kubo sucks at worldbuilding, so none of it really makes much sense.

Bleach leaves a lot of details like that unaddressed which is to the detriment of the series
