It would be set after Korra. If it's set before Korra then that avatar would already be Kiyoshi. Pretty sure her books are free on audible. You should check them out if you haven't already.

So you have no interest in this Aang remake? I don't know. Its more Avatar. Unless it turns out to suck, I don't see why I should deprive myself of it. I never watched the movie. But this looks different. The trailer looks good

Nope. Cartoon was great, what's the point in watching the exact same story play out again just because it's not animated?

Live action is not something that generally appeals to me. It's the same thing for the Disney movies. I'd rather watch the animation over the live action, so I've seen zero of the live actions.

If the Avatar live action is somehow actually good, then yeah I might give it a try. But I won't be in any hurry to watch it.

I did not know about the multiple Avatar shows that are being worked on...Here's hoping they are good quality stuff!

I think its only season 1 for book 1. I saw nothing from book 2 in the trailer

As a big fan of the Watchmen GN, the movie felt, at best, resoundingly redundant (outside of the opening credits). Every time I think about giving the movie a second viewing, I realize that my time would be better spent just rereading the GN. Similar thing happened with Scott Pilgrim.

I'll give the live-action Avatar a shot, but if it's going to be largely a beat-for-beat remake, then it too will most likely feel redundant, since the animated series already exists and it's pretty much perfect.

Thing is, fans of the original are rarely if ever the main target audience here; live-action remakes are trying to cast a broader next with a more general audience, who in this case vaguely recognize the brand but wouldn't take an animated kids show seriously enough to watch the original.

The movie condensed the first book into a 2-hour feature. I never saw it, but I assume that worked out pretty much okay...right?

I never watched it but it looked horrible. And people say it was very very bad

There is a reason the movie never got any sequels and it just ended with book 1

Trailer looks ok, but considering the original writers walked away from the project Im not too optimistic. Itll certainly be better than the movie, but thats faint praise.

Ill eat my words if it ends up decent like the One Piece LA, but Im not holding my breath.

So I know people are worried about what the original creators did. But I saw a comment on YouTube today that said they left because they wanted to focus on the new animated stuff. And they started a studio called Avatar Studios and partnered with Paramount Plus

They may not have left in disgust and the show might still be good. Supposedly the people who stayed with the project are big fans of the cartoon. I still think it will be fine. I remember the movie trailer. I could tell it would be bad. This looks nothing like the movie

My guess is it'll be average and get the gist of the oroginal but lack a lot of the magic and charm, and the action/bending will look like shit.

So basically like the One Piece one.
