A big flaw of the MCU is people eventually leave. You can either recast which doesn't always work well, or just retire those characters. Which is lame since in the source material every character goes on and on and on. As much as I still watch the MCU, it is lame to no longer have Captain America and Iron Man

I sometimes wonder what the MCU would have been like if it had been animated films instead. Voice actors can do the same role til they die

I think that it's fine if it's not animated, but I think that the movies just go too expansive and too difficult to follow.

But then you miss out on the section of the audience who thinks everything animated is exclusively for kids and that it's only socially acceptable as an adult to watch a superhero movie if it's live action (but make exceptions for movies that are >50% CGI)

Wouldn't have made nearly as much without the horny factor from live action actors

But to make another point, I actually kind of like that the MCU retires characters, because it makes it feel more grounded and like there's actual time passing. You can see Tony Stark age from Iron Man to Endgame, and retiring his character allows them to give him a proper send-off rather than continue to drag him out forever.

Also it's a little neat to see a new generation rise up because the first wave of heroes is moving on in one way or another.

the big flaw is that the new actors feel like they have to fill certain shoes. when iron man and cap joined, no one gave a fuck. people were literally like wtf rdj acts again? thor was an unknown for like half a decade or more. but after endgame, suddenly it's a bunch of try-hard actors trying to match up to roles. "i wish i fit this role because i love comics", as if that helped any actor before.

they have fresh meat to start over again with. x-men for certain. f4 to some extent, despite its horrible attempts in the past. but what really has to come through are the actors. they have to stop thinking they will fill the role and just 'become' the character

this is even with recasts and retcons.

They're not gonna pay RDJ or Chris Evans to voice the lead in a cartoon show.

If it were animated then it wouldn't be nearly as big as it is, nor would it have lasted 15+ years.
