In terms of indie games, it's still not as bad as Owlboy.

It was in the works for almost a decade. Development started before Braid came out, before the "indie boom" had even started.

Yeah but at least we know its because they fully scrapped it and started over. I think George R. R. Martin is developing Silksong.

I'm really curious what aspect of it is taking so long. It obviously has to have a lot of feature creep, going from DLC to a full game, but how much could they possibly be adding compared to what we've seen?

Apparently it's bigger than Hollow Knight now so I can only hope that it's going to have as much stuff plus a longer boss rush and white palace/path of pain equivalent. Hollow Knight's kickstarter ended in Dec. 14 2014, and Godmaster was released in Aug. 23, 2018 which is 1348 days. Nvm the fact that they were probably already doing stuff before the Kickstarter ended. Like I think the Knight's design is originally from Team Cherry's Hungry Knight, which was also 2014. No idea how Covid impacted their development though.
