Maybe we haven't detected any signs of aliens because nobody is out there yet. Or at least nobody who is able to answer us. Imagine if we end up getting out into the galaxy and all we keep finding is planets where it's just animals. Or primitive intelligent beings. Like in the stone age still

Maybe humans will eventually be the "ancient aliens" that some other planet will someday talk about in conspiracy theories

As old and massive as the universe is, that is super unlikely.

We are just kinda isolated far away from other populated worlds, at least as far as we know.

I've heard some theories before that no life could arise for most of the universe's life. They say right now is the best time in the lifespan of the universe for life to exist

Then that would be dauntingly disappointing.

I kinda think similar to this. It's easy to compare to how life was on earth thousands of years ago, but that's such a tiny time frame. If we were even able to see a civilization during this stage of their development, they could have already advanced way beyond that, then gone extinct for a million years by the time we saw it.

The sad fact is, the universe is expanding gradually ever second. Pushing us away from other possible life because it will eventually be pushed out of our galaxy, forever separated from us. We won't have any decent amounts of space faring technology by that point so it'll just be us on this one planet.

Then when we kill ourselves off, all life in the known galaxy will be snuffed out for what seems like the rest of time, & then eventually in billions of years what remains of earth will be sucked into the black hole at the center of the milky way & that'll be it

Not a chance in hell.

The Universe is 13,800,000,000 old and The Solar System is only 5,000,000,000 years old and Earth is only 4,600,000,000 and Humans have only been around for 2,000,000 years meaning there has been more than enough time for planets with intelligent life to have come and gone before the birth of The Solar System.

Try this, Our Galaxy is only one of an estimated 125,000,000,000 - 150,000,000,000 Galaxies in The Observable Universe and there is an estimated 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (1 septillion) stars in The Universe. The number of planets could be in the octillions. So with all that there is no way in helll we are alone in The Universe.

So according to this, it would take life on another planet to roughly 5 billion years to reach our level of tech. Of course, our level of tech is basically still cavemen.
