It's a type of sea slug that is born with a brain, but loses it during its life cycle It swims around in its youth and then finds a surface to cling to for the rest of its life and then it turns into more like a sea sponge. It no longer needs the brain so it's body absorbs it for nutrients Kinda sounds horrific.
