Yes and when they get experienced enough to demand more pay they get fired and replaced with people fresh outta school.

Everyone wants to work in the industry so that drives wages down. It is way easier making big bucks by entering a more boring but necessary field like healthcare.

Yeah the video game industry pays average at best, but also has some of the worst worming conditions of the tech field.

When I was a teen I dreamed of working in the industry, which is what got me into programming. But after seeing all the horror stories of the industry I decided to stick with other programming jobs

Marvel also takes advantage of this too.

They pay and lowball their workers because they know everyone wants to work for them.

I still don't get why being in the industry is considered a "dream job" even though it's common knowledge how miserable working in it is. Unless you're an executive or in project management you barely get paid and a lot of times have to work ridiculous hours for barely any recognition.
