Is this only happening with publicly trade corps? I see small private companies hiring out the ass for everything.

Yea the company I work for laud off the entire admin department back in June. I've already made preparations for when the economy turns.

My company just went through layoffs I think. At least, they announced they were going to a month or two ago

I don't know why but it really bugs me seeing places go through these boom/bust cycles, especially because it's always the people that lose. layoffs in my field just make me somewhere between angry and depressed.
