I've never done it before, so I'm kind of nervous. I just hope it goes to someone who needs it and make some kind of a difference.

And I want money.

I went for 3 weeks or so and made around 500.

Now I'm done with the "new donor bonus" month the money isn't as good and I haven't been back. They send me messages though and they slightly went up on their pay. I think it's 140 a week for two donations.

To be honest, I would do it more but the clinic is in a rough part of town, lots of traffic to get there, and it's unpredictable how long I'll be waiting in line. Sometimes I'm in and out in 90 minutes and sometimes it's well over 2 hours.

I waited two whole days to be told I can't donate because I need a doctor's approval because when I was an infant I had heart surgery. Like bitch it's been 20 years I think I'm fine. I'd donated blood tons of times, and even DONATED plasma before. Guess the Red Cross don't give a shit about doctor's approval.

Oh, and on your first visit be prepared to wait a while. I think I was there for 3 hours. They have to do an exam, make sure your veins are good, and do some highly robust health questionaires. At my clinic they rush the newbies to the front of the line but you still will be waiting to get hooked up to the machine. Have something fun on your phone that you can easily do one handed. I played a lot of Mario Run and Slay the Spire.

I've done the plasma donation twice. I hope it did something worthwhile.

I started doing that last month, and it really helps me in my situation.

Have fun, bring entertainment, pump that wrist like we've practiced, hope to god you don't have to shit mid performance, etc.

Don't bring anything for entertainment that you need both hands for. One of your arms isn't allowed to move more than a twitch for a little under an hour.

don't use your deedin arm

a good trick is to talk to your nurse and be friendly and polite...

right when they get the needle going ask about their family or something pleasant and let them talk to you as it helps district from the needle...

Thank you for the replies. I don't know what to expect, and sitting in one spot (during the process) definitely wasn't one of them. I don't play games on my, so I guess I'll have to find my way to distract myself.

i would give plasma. just hate being stuck with needle and avoidance of pain etc.

probably going to get stuck with the covid vaccine come november. i don't want to end up on a ventilator.

I have to come back tomorrow to do the donation because I didn't eat a meal before coming :(
But I can still do the physical. They have me sitting here in a waiting room.

donating never really seemed to affect me outside a Hematoma one time but ive seen people faint and stuff
