Would most you prefer this? Like live on a rather large property with no one you don't know well living within a 1/4 of a mile from you

I don't talk to my neighbors or anything. Their only function is to make it so I can't blast music and clog up the road with parked cars when holiday season comes around.

Nope. To have that I'd have to live in the middle of nowhere, which is a negative for me. Born and raised in LA, so I like living in the city.

Isn't the traffic in la terrible? Worst in the country?

Yeah, or just a few neighbors that aren't super close by.

I currently live in a suburban housing development and it's ok, but there's too many people around for my tastes. I could use some more distance between us at least.

I guess it depends on what you like to do for fun. The traffic here can get pretty bad, but there's a ton of fun things to do. It's not a bad trade off to me. Like Six Flags, Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland and Universal Studios are all 45-60 minutes from my place. Then there's multiple malls, museums, restaurants, arcades/fun centers, state parks, beaches, etc, that can be reached in that timeframe as well.

Best decision I ever made was moving to the country.

- Away from the idiots
- No loiters
- Far less noise
- Fresh, cleaner air
- Can't see most of my neighbors due to all the trees scattered everywhere in my fenced-up property.
- Fewer chances of break-ins, robberies.

Yeah, remote properties can totally get robbed.

My place in the city has 24 hour security.

Yeah i just feel like i watch too many scary movies where im like this wouldnt happen in my subdivision because theres too many people and all the houses are fairly close.

But it can happen anywhere. Just easier on my mind.

Also like living to much nicer houses too to throw of the scent. Just like when i have a regular honda accord i like to park it next to a nicer car so they rob that one instead or first.

If the internet is great and it's quit enough then yes.

That and for some reason when people think of the country its the middle of nowhere, hours from civilization. When in reality most conveniences likely aren't more then 20-40 mins away.

Well my only frame of reference is the city where my girlfriend's parents live. It's not exactly the same as what TC described, as they live in a small city where the houses are about 300-500 feet away from each other (in LA the houses are like 10-15 feet apart max). But it's a much smaller population than Los Angeles, and we had to drive 30+ minutes out anytime we went somewhere. It just felt way more isolated than I'm used to and I know I don't want anything similar lol.

In can very alot tbh based on your location.

Much of the midwest and south in general are just alot more condensed so you could through a urban, suburban and a rural zone within 10-20 minutes oftentimes.
